IRVINE, California, August 2019 – Apex Executive Search, LLC, a prestigious California-based retained executive search firm, announced the successful placement of Wasi Ahmed as the new CIO at Foundation Building Materials (FBM).  He will report to FBM, CEO and founder, Ruben Mendozawho was named the 2018 EY Entrepreneur of the Year in Distribution and Manufacturing.  Wasi arrives at a strategic time as the company is evaluating and implementing new technology to support customer engagement. 

Wasi has 25 years of progressive experience in the manufacturing, consumer goods, pharmaceutical and software industries. He comes from Yokohama Tire Corporation NA where he was a key driver of modernization efforts as the CIO.  Prior to that, he held IT leadership roles at Ventura Foods and Pharmavite.  He graduated with honors from University of Denver earning an MS in CIS.  He also has a BS in CIS with a minor in Accounting from Cal State University, San Jose.
